Lost City (Teyuna) It is an ancient indigenous ceremonial center located deep in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. Built around 800 BC by the Tayrona civilization, long before Machu Picchu, is considered one of the most important archaeological jewels in Latin America.

It is only accessible via a multi-day trek (between 3, 4, and 5), crossing jungles, mountains, and rivers. During the journey, you will visit camps, indigenous communities, and sacred sites, guided by locals and indigenous peoples such as the Kogui or Wiwa, guardians of the territory.

Lost City is not just a destination: it's a spiritual, cultural, and natural experience that connects you with the living history of Colombia's ancestral peoples.

This experience to visit the Lost City lasts 3 days and 2 nights and includes some demanding hikes, so we recommend being in good physical condition to participate in this experience.The tour includes 60 km of hiking along steep and rugged trails, crossing rivers and hanging bridges. During the tour, travelers will have the opportunity to enjoy stunning landscapes, observe the region's flora and fauna, and immerse themselves in the indigenous culture of the Sierra Nevada.

ITINERARY

Dia 1
  • Salida del hotel en Santa Marta  a las 04:30 am aproximadamente por 3 horas en el transporte hasta llegar al pueblo Mamey (Machete pelao).
  • Al momento de llegar al pueblo Mamey tomarás un rico desayuno para recargar de energía para una caminata exigente.
  • Después del desayuno tomaremos un traslado en moto aproximadamente por 45 minutos hasta llegar en la vereda vista hermosa.
  • Desde este punto empezarás con  una caminata de aproximadamente de 9 km para llegar al punto donde tomarán el almuerzo, en el lugar llamado campamento  Mumake.
  • Después del almuerzo y un breve descanso, empezarás una caminata de aproximadamente de 8 km para poder llegar al último campamento llamado Cabaña paraiso.
  • En este campamento pasaran la primera noche del tour.

 

  • Este gran día lo comenzarás con una deliciosa taza de café y desayuno para poder visitar la Ciudad Perdida.
  • Luego de desayunar, retomaremos el recorrido con una caminata de 1 hrs aproximadamente para llegar a las terrazas principales de la Ciudad Perdida. Nuestra estadía allí, será de 2 o 3 horas, en este punto disfrutaras de la sorprendente complejidad de su arquitectura, también de diferentes pinturas rupestres y petroglifos (dibujos grabados en piedra), según la recomendación del guía.
  • Después del recorrido retornan al campamento para tomar el almuerzo.
  • Después del almuerzo y un merecido descanso, descenderemos con una caminata de 4 hrs para poder llegar al campamento Mumake, donde pasaras la noche en cama o en hamaca.

  • El último día de esta increíble y maravillosa experiencia, lo  iniciaremos con un rico y nutritivo desayuno, para luego comenzar con una caminata de 6 horas aproximadamente hacia el Pueblo Mamey.
  • Después del almuerzo, y de unos minutos de descanso, nos dirigimos a los respectivos transportes, para descender hacia la ciudad de Santa Marta. En la ciudad estaremos llegando aproximadamente a las  4:00 pm o 5:00 pm, directamente a la oficina o al hotel donde los recogió el transporte el primer día.
  • Fin de una increíble experiencia.

  • Itinerary changes depending on weather conditions, our guides will always have other alternatives, for the safety of each traveler and to comply with the services acquired, if the traveler does not take the alternatives as indicated by the guide and decides to abandon what the guide indicated NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN
  • The 5 day tour if the Traveler decides to take the Tour for 4 days, there is no refund.

Traveler Responsibilities

  • The consumption of hallucinogenic drugs or excessive alcohol is prohibited.
